What a weekend! Team Philippaerts worked really hard last week. And yes, hard work payed off! Not only won Thibault with the Belgian Team the European Championships in Fontainbleau, also Nicola won the Longines Global Champions Tour of Chantilly.
Thibault Philippaerts and Cataleya 3 kicked off the European Championships for juniors with a first place on Thursday. On Friday, they won Team Gold for Belgium. Team Belgium (Thibault Philippaerts, Alexander Housen, Simon Morssinkhof, Thibeau Spits en Matthias Hazebroek) took the lead with a total of 14.55 points, a considerable advantage. Silver was claimed by Britain, with their team ending on 22.29.
In Chantilly, on the other hand, Nicola Philippaerts and H&M Chilli Willi did not only win the Global Champions League with the London Knights, but they were also victorious in the Grand Prix of the 11th leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour. They proved once again what an amazing duo they are. It's already the second victory of the Global Champions Tour this season for Nicola. Just a few weeks ago, he won the Global Champions Tour of Cascias with H&M Harley v/d Bisschop.
"What can I say?", Smiles Nicola. "It's fantastic. I keep repeating myself, but Chilli Willi really is in good shape. The most beautiful thing is that he keeps on shining. I won with H&M Harley v/d Bisschop in Cascais, now again with Chilli Willi. It's my second victory in less than a month during the Longines Global Champions. I have two amazing horses at the moment. Today, we'll enjoy our victory. Next week, we'll focus on Aachen.
