The countdown is on. A new season of the Longines Global Champions Tour starts in Mexico this weekend. The Longines Global Champions Tour is World's premier five-star show jumping event across 3 different continents and no less than 17 cities. Just like the previous year, the Philippaerts brothers don’t want to miss the Longines Global Champions Tour. The Global Champions Playoffs this year promise to be an unforgettable excitement since they will be staged in the magical Czech capital Prague.
The Longines Global Champions Tour is comparable to the Champions League. It is a high rated competition. “Actually, it’s easy to conclude”, say the Philippaerts brothers, “They gather the best riders in the world and bring them to the most unique places in an exclusive setting, with the best conditions to practice our sport.”
The prize money linked to this prestigious show jumping is really worth it. Around € 35 million will be payed to the best individual and team riders, including the € 12 million to be won during the Playoffs in Prague.
“The Longines Global Champions Tour is by far the best.”, says Olivier. “The competitors are strong, and the jumps seem to be even wider and higher.”. “Off course, the unique locations are an important reason for this”, adds Nicola. “Think about it: Miami Beach, the port in Monaco, the Eiffel Tower, these are all exclusive settings… By participating in the tour, we can travel to outstanding places… .”.
The Longines Global Champions Tour had been planned in our agendas quite a while ago. The World Cup Finals in Paris are an extra challenge now for Olivier. “I got nothing to complain, it’s a luxury problem. With the right schedule, it’s going to be okay. Initially, H&M Legend of Love would accompany me in Mexico, but she won’t be there now. Legend joins me for the World Cup Finals and Extra and Icos will kick off the Longines Global Champions Tour in Mexico.
Riders participate individual as well as in teams. “I’ll participate in the team competition, together with Olivier, Ben Maher, Martin Fuchs, en Emily Moffitt. Our team names London Knights” say Nicola. H&M Harley v/d Bisschop and Chilli Willi will join him in Mexico.
