Nicola and Olivier won the opening leg of the Longines Global Champions League in Doha. Both of them rode a clear first and second round. This is the the brothers' first win together in their (young) career.
Nicola and Olivier are clearly in shape in Doha. After a few good performances last week, their focus this weekend was on the opening leg of the Longines Global Tour, to start with the team competition: the Longines Global Champions League. Olivier rode a clear round with Zayado on Friday. And so did Nicola with Katanga v/h Dingeshof. Today, Oliver got H&M Extra under the saddle and rode a spotless round again. Nicola repeated yesterday's performance. The four clear rounds and fastest time resulted in a victory for the twins. Never before have they won a prestigious competition like this one together. Even more: they never won a competition together at all.
"It feels amazing to win the opening leg of the Longines Global Champions League”, says Olivier.“Both Nicola and I have won some competitions with our team the London Knights the past few years, but this is our first victory together. That makes it really special. Our horses are doing great. We hope to make an excellent performance as well later today during the GP."
