This season's first Nations Cup takes place next Sunday. This year, the Belgian team is part of Division 1 again. Coach Peter Weinberg selected the following riders for his team: Pieter Devos, Jos Verlooy, Christophe Vanderhasselt, Wilm Vermeir and Nicola Philippaerts. Unlike the previous seasons, the Nations Cup will be on Sunday instead of Friday.
All the Belgian horses that started yesterday seem to be healthy and in good shape. Today, Nicola and Chilli Willi participate in de GP as well as in the Nations Cup.
"By now, Chilli Willi recovered from his trips to Miami and Mexico. He's in good shape for the upcoming competitions today (GP) and on Sunday (Nations Cup). I'm very glad that the coach selected me for the first Nations Cup of the season. It's always an honor to stand up for your country. I think it was a good idea to switch the Nations Cup and GP from day. It's always fancier on a Sunday than on a regular day during the week. I think we can be ambitious. The coach selected a good team with suitable horses. It's up to us now to make the best of it and to shine in the Slovakian ring, with corresponding results." Says Nicola.
