Olivier and his horse Hipster SV finished third in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Vienna on Sunday evening. Germany's Sophie Hinners (Iron Dames Combella) took the victory.
Vienna hosted the twelfth leg of the prestigious 2026 Longines Global Champions Tour. The arena had a fairytale setting, with an illuminated palace in the background, packed stands and an atmosphere that grew with every clear round. Eight combinations managed to jump clear in the first round, including Olivier and Hipster SV. In the jump-off, Hinners took every risk, stayed clear and set the fastest time. Peder Fredricson (Alcapone des Carmille) finished second, just 0.47 seconds behind her. Olivier took third place, with a difference of 1.73 seconds with winner Hinners.
A first Global Tour podium for Hipster SV
For ten-year-old Hipster SV, it was his first podium finish on the Global Champions Tour. "In the past, we often had a fault or two. Yesterday was the first time everything really came together. We jumped two clear rounds and finished third. Hipster felt really good, and I'm very happy with what we achieved together," says Olivier. "The first round was quite challenging. At the start of the competition, not many riders managed to jump clear. In the end, eight combinations qualified for the jump-off. I was fourth to go and immediately set a new fastest time. Looking back, I might have been able to ride one fence a little faster towards the end. But I'm really happy with our performance and the result."
Next stops: Rome and Cairo
Hipster SV has already competed in several Global Tour events this season and will return to action a few more times before the end of the year. "In mid-October, we'll compete together in Rome before heading straight to Cairo. I hope we can keep up this momentum and achieve a few more great results," concludes Olivier.
