In late summer temperatures at the Autumn Mediterranean Equestrian Tour 2022 in Oliva Nova, Spain, Nicola Philippaerts managed to win the 1.45m Longines Ranking class on Friday with the 10-year-old gelding, Khan van de Kattevennen Z (Kannan).

A day later he rides a spotless round again, in the Gold 1.45m Longines class with Khan vd Kattevennen Z. 16 combinations qualified for the jump-off. Nicola manages to stay clear with a time of 37.70 sec and captured 5th place.

Rounding up the second MET week, Nicola grabbed victory in the 1.50m GRAND PRIX except for one fault with H&M Luna Van 't Ruytershof Z. He finished last in the jump-off. With the 10-year-old mare, he realised a time of 29 seconds. He was the fastest combination with penalty points. This still earned him sixth place.

This did not happen to him a second time, and so in the third week Nicola proved to be in top form again. On Thursday, he rode a superb class with Onyx van het Bremenhof to finish eighth in the GP-Qualifier. On Saturday, he landed just off the podium by a great performance with Khan van de Kattevennen Z in the Gold Longines Ranking class to finish fourth.

But then, on Sunday, he goes all in. Fully focused, he started in the Grand Prix with H&M Luna van 't Ruytershof Z. The two soon set the fastest time, none of the following combinations manages to beat them. And so Nicola nevertheless came home with a victory in the Grand Prix of MET Oliva.
