They say save the best for last, and so we did while closing the year at Jumping Mechelen.
On the first day, Anthony didn’t waste any time and immediately took victory with Calypso de Blondel, closely followed by Jenny who managed to secure a great third place in the CSI-YR 1.40m. Anthony also showed what he’s made of in the 1.35m and finished third with Orchidee van Dorperheide. As if that was not enough triumph for one day, Nicola and H&M Luna van 't Ruytershof Z provided the icing on the cake by taking second place in the Belgian indoor championship.
We could attribute it to the Christmas magic or we could just proudly say that both riders and horses were in top form, as during the week Stijn managed to secure third place with the lovely Quanthago van 't Huka in the 6-Year-Old Stallion Class. And also Nicola showed off his skills again by finishing fourth in the 1.50m with H&M Luna van 't Ruytershof Z.
Overall, our team captured several top 10 placings and Thibault was even nominated for "Talent of the Year" by the Belgian Equestrian Federation.
But the highlight was yet to come. In one of the most important classes, the famous Grand Prix, Olivier and Thibault competed side by side in the jump-off. With only a second difference, they finished in a well-deserved third and fourth place.
So we can say we ended the year successfully, taking us back into 2023 full of enthusiasm and energy! Here's to more moments of glory!
